ONE WEEK OLD!!

So, we had another MD visit today and to our happiness Sophia gained half of the weight she lost since birth! It only took a few days too! I guess it helps to know how much to be feeding your child! Just an FYI, 2.5 oz/pound/24 hours, just in case anybody was curious. Oh, and the nurse we had today explained to us why it looked as though she had shrunk. The nurses in the hospital measure the length with the foot plantarflexed, pointed toes, and the nurses in the clinic measure it with the feel dorsiflexed, flat foot. So we did not have the incredible shrinking baby on the last visit, they just measure differently. Now she is truly 21 inches long!
We have been good, hanging out at home a lot, getting our fill of daytime TV that is for sure! Sophia and mom are getting some good skin to skin time everyday as it is suppose to help with milk production in the long run. Tanner is a wonderful father and husband giving support and love when ever needed to Sophia and Sarah. He pulled the late night duty last night which was very helpful to Sarah who was just run down. We have wonderful friends and family who have brought us food and offered support whenever needed. We appreciate all the offers, but just do not know what to ask for at this time since we are basically couch potatoes these days and trying to figure out Sophia's and our schedules. When we do think of something be sure that we will not hesitate to take people up on their offers :)
We will be heading to the Twin Cities in a week, craziness! We are definitely looking forward to that visit and getting more answers and an idea of what to expect. We will be heading to Brainerd for a long weekend after that, as we have already been questioned about when we are going to make the trip to Brainerd. Auntie Beth is coming up this weekend, supposedly we have not heard from her so it is speculation at this time, but we hope it is true! Again though we hope we do not bore her with our laziness :)
We will post more pictures as we take more and find the time to load them onto the computer! Oh and thank you Grandpa Pete/Dad for the beautiful roses for mommy and Sophia Rose, they are BEAUTIFUL like our daughter! Thank you for all the prayers! PLEASE keep them coming!

  1. Hi Lundy's. Just wanted to say "congrats!". Life with a newborn is definitely an adventure huh? We spend lots of time sitting and looking at our beauty as well. Our little Evelyn was 4 weeks yesterday and unlike your Sophia she isn't gaining weight! Blame the nursing I suppose since she only takes what she wants. At least she isn't losing weight though. We also had a shrinking baby! Ha. We didn't have it explained as to why the measurement was different since we didn't ask ... good to know though! :) Thanks for your blog, I am excited to find out it exists. 2. It's amazing how your life changes with a baby! I'm sure you and Tanner are doing wonderfully. You'll have to bring her into work to show us all, just not next week, I"M OFF!! If you need something, or just someone to talk to, I'm around!
